hi al. sorry to be so late for these minutes.

we discussed some kind of logo, that a banner and a website would be more
appropriate.

we want to do an event end of january / feb. we also want to table at
appropriate events, such as "Dine, dance, Revolution" on jan 7. we want to
have a banner by then.

we want to get some posters made up, many possible themes, reproduce some
classic anti-patriarchy posters etc.

we want to communicate in a way that is not overly academic, and to answer
questions such as "what does patriarchy mean?"

we need to make it clear who is putting this posters out.

peter will find a day we can meet at the thistle to make a banner.

possible tabling at an animal rights event.

question our event could address: "what is solidarity against patriarchy?"

we should do some reading on pornography for a future meeting.

Our event tentatively scheduled for jan. 29.

we discussed venues: rhizome, mt. pleasant neighbourhood house, library

sfupirg is also doing a series on patriarchy

reg will write a call out to distribute to potential speakers. they are:
vikki reynolds, fathima jaffer, angela macdougall.

we should do a movie night for our first meeting in january. suggested:
"the price of pleasure", "dominant masculine".

at our next meeting, dec. 9th, we will have: 1) a call-out 2) text and
design for posters 3) contact speakers.

please find below a draft of the call-out for speakers for jan. 29 event.

DRAFT: please feel free to comment / alter.

Hello! We are Solidarity Against Patriarchy, a group of mostly
male-identified people who are organizing to do anti-patriarchy work within
and beyond radical communities. [should we include the statement of
principles here, or as an attachment?]

One form our work will take is to organize panels and other events that
feature women speaking on / about patriarchy. Our intention is to do the
"bottom line" work of finding spaces, creating and distributing promotional
material, setting up and taking down, etc. in order to make space for women
to speak.

We are writing to invite you to speak on a panel that addresses the
question, "What is solidarity against patriarchy?" What does solidarity
against patriarchy look like for you? How is it practiced? We have
tentatively scheduled the panel for Jan. 29, possibly at the Mt. Pleasant
Neighbourhood House.

We look forward to hearing from you.

In solidarity,

Solidarity Against Patriarchy (SAP)
