The YES on Initiative 297 Campaign needs your help to secure a victory in November!

 

Hanford is the most contaminated site in the Western Hemisphere.  Over a million gallons of high-level waste have leaked from tanks at Hanford, contaminating the groundwater and heading towards the Columbia River.  Despite this fact, the Department of Energy has a plan to ship 23,000 additional truckloads of radioactive waste, along our highways and through our communities, to the Hanford site.  They, of course, have the option to increase the number of truckloads up to 92,000.

 

I-297 will be on the ballot in November!  It will require that the Department of Energy cleanup the radioactive mess at Hanford before any more waste is dumped in our state.  8 out of 10 people in Washington will vote yes in November, as long as we get our message out!

 

We need volunteers to help us make this a successful campaign!
