Dear community,
We will have a room available on July 20th or possiblysooner in our home. It's wonderfully located in Hayes Valley, near MarketStreet, a 15-minute walk to the Castro and the Mission. This is a great walkablearea with 1 block access to the 6, 7, and F, and a 10-minute walk to Van NessMetro station with access to the J, K, L, M, N, and F. Safeway and WholeFoods are both a 5 minutes' walk away. The SF Zen Center is 1 block away fromus.
Our home has 1 1/2 bathrooms, dishwasher, coin-operated washerand dryer in the basement, an outside deck, spacious kitchen, and a sunnyliving room. There are 3 short steps to the front door. Access to thedeck is via one flight of outdoor stairs, and access to the washer/dryer in thebasement is via 6-8 stairs outside from the street level. The apartmentis in an old Victorian building, and unfortunately is not wheelchairaccessible.
The available room is large with two large windows, and acloset. It shares a Jack-and-Jill stylehalf-bath with an adjacent room. Thishalf-bath only has a sink and some bathroom storage cupboards.
We are 5 conscious and mature women, in our late twenties tolate forties. Some of us work in the healing field, one of us is a gradstudent, one of us works in research, and one works in a start-up. We honoropen and kind communication, mutual respect, and community decision- making.Due to our different schedules we do not see each other much. Honoring eachother’s needs for privacy, space, and quiet time when we get home, so we canrestore, is very important to us. However, during the Coronavirus andshelter-in-place, all are working from home, and one of us has been shelteringin place with family out-of-state.
We keep the apartment clean, tidy, and organized. We share cleaningchores and you should be willing to do yours regularly. We do not smokenor do drugs. Occasionally drinking is OK, but this is not a party house. Smokingof any kind is not allowed due to allergies. Pets, unfortunately, cannot be accommodated due to allergies. This is ashoes-off indoors home.
We are looking for someone who appreciates and honors whatwe offer and shares similar values. Diversity, equality, acceptance, consciousness are some of the values we try to live by.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have beensheltering-in-place these past several months, and continue to take reasonablehealth precautions including sanitizing packages, groceries when they enter thehouse, regularly sanitizing common surfaces, frequent hand washing, wearingmasks in public, and social distancing. We expect you to be like-minded and have been following similarprotocols and willing to continue doing so, as one of us is among thevulnerable population.
The rent is around $925/month, bills are about $35-$40 perperson (internet, PGE, common house purchases such as toilet paper, cleaningsupplies, and special items we may all decide to purchase together, like agarbage bin, a pot, pan). We always decide together on extra items, respectingpeople’s different budgetary needs. Deposit is one month's rent
If our home feels like a place you may feel at home too, please email us, letting us know a bit about you, why you are moving, what youare looking for in a home, and what you bring to a home. Interviews andhome tours will be held virtually at the initial stage, and if it seems like agood fit for both parties, we can arrange a socially-distanced physicalviewing.
Wishing you the best in your home search,
Raquel
