  International Conference for the World Balance
  Over 360 intellectuals from 35 countries will meet in Havana to debate the unbalance of the world. Intellectual heritage of American thinkers and national heroes such as Simón Bolívar, Benito Juárez, Eloy Alfaro and Augusto César Sandino will also be discussed.

  Havana. - The validity of Jose Marti´s thoughts and his link with the strategies to consolidate the unity of the Latin American and Caribbean people are among the objectives of the International Conference for the World Balance.
  One of the purposes of the event, which will be in session from 28 th to 30th of current month in that city, is to validate Marti´s work and action before the human challenges facing the dilemmas of the globalised world.
  The objective of the meeting is to convene reflection on the most important problems that affect the planet, from the point of view of Jose Marti and other American thinkers such as Simón Bolívar, Eloy Alfaro, Benito Juárez, Augusto César Sandino y Carlos Mariátegui.

  The subjects to de debated are divided into three sections: political and social dimension of Jose Marti, The Man and the Nature, and the World Imbalance and its Repercussions.
  Collateral meetings will be The Youth Forum of American thinkers and national heroes and The Defence of Humanity.

   Armando Hart Davalos, director of the Marti Program Office highlighted: “Jose Marti was probably the first man to use the term “balance of the world”, and he invited the media to alert about the dangers of survival that the humanity faces.
  The Secretary General of the Ibero-American Organization for Education, Science and Culture will assist to the event. Distinguished intellectuals of 35 countries will also participate. Danielle Mitterrand, Frei Betto and Eusebio Leal Spengler are among them.
  Art expositions and the presentation of the play “The Pink Shoes” by the Las Estaciones theatre will be a part of the activities that will take place at the event.
  Pierre Sane, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO and Roberto Fernandez Retamar, president of House of Americas will be at the opening. 
  Three commissions will be in session: one dedicated to the Social Dimension and Politics of Jose Marti, Nature and the Man and the World´s Unbalance and its Repercussions.
   At the same time, a youth forum will take place under the title “A New Man for a New World” and a workshop where the heritage of great American thinkers and national heroes, such as Simon Bolivar, Benito Juarez and Augusto Cesar Sandino will be discussed.
  The first International Conference for the World Balance took place in 2003. In that occasion UNESCO was asked to create a World Council to spread Marti’s ideas. The project was passed and today it groups 48 prestigious figures, such as the Uruguayan Mario Benedetti and the Colombian Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
  This date calls intellectuals, scientists, professors, students, journalists, writers: an immense gamma of personalities that represent different streams of conciousness, who relate because of common problems and challenges that the contemporary humanity faces.
  As a result of this purpose, important international meetings, such as the first International Conference for the Balance of the World (2003); The International Discussion  “Jose Marti for a Culture of Nature” (2004) and the recent International Conference “With Everyone and for the Well -Being of All” (2005),
  In Marti´s work we see the diversity of motivation that allows a connection with the best of Latin American cultural thinking, The Caribbean and the rest of the world.

  II Conferencia Internacional Por el Equilibrio del Mundo 
  Más de 350 intelectuales de 35 países se reunirán en La Habana para debatir sobre los desequilibrios del planeta. Se abordará también la herencia intelectual de grandes próceres y pensadores de América como Simón Bolívar, Benito Juárez, Eloy Alfaro y Augusto César Sandino.

  La Habana.- La vigencia del pensamiento de José Martí y su vínculo con estrategias para consolidar la unidad de los pueblos latinoamericanos y caribeños están entre los objetivos de la conferencia internacional  Por el equilibrio del mundo.
     Otro de los propósitos del evento, que sesionará del veintiocho al treinta del presente mes en esta ciudad, es validar la obra y acción martianos ante los retos de la humanidad frente a los dilemas del mundo globalizado. 
     El objetivo de la reunión es convocar a la reflexión sobre los más importantes problemas que afectan al planeta, a partir del pensamiento de José Martí y de otros pensadores americanos como Simón Bolívar, Eloy Alfaro, Benito Juárez, Augusto César Sandino y Carlos Mariátegui.
    Los temas a debatir se dividen en tres acápites: 
 Dimensión política y social de José Martí, La naturaleza y el Hombre, y El desequilibrio del Mundo y su repercusión. Otros encuentros colaterales serán el foro juvenil Próceres y pensadores de América, y Defensa de la humanidad.
    Armando Hart Dávalos, director de la Oficina del Programa Martiano, subrayó: “José Martí fue probablemente el primer hombre que utilizó el término de equilibrio del mundo”, e invitó a los medios de comunicación a alertar sobre los peligros de supervivencia que enfrenta la humanidad.    
    El evento contará con la presencia del secretario general de la Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura, Álvaro Marchesi Ullasteres. También  participarán destacados intelectuales de 35 países, entre los que sobresalen la señora Danielle Mitterrand, Frei Betto y Eusebio Leal Spengler.   
    Como parte de las actividades del evento, se realizarán, además, exposiciones de artes plásticas, así como la presentación de la obra Los zapaticos de rosa, por la compañía de teatro Las Estaciones. 
      En la apertura estarán Pierre Sané, subdirector general de la UNESCO y Roberto Fernández Retamar, presidente de Casa de las Américas.
     Sesionarán tres comisiones, una dedicada a la dimensión social y política de José Martí, otra sobre la naturaleza y el hombre, y una tercera con el tema Los desequilibros en el mundo y su repercursión.
     Paralelamente, se realizarán un foro juvenil bajo el título de El hombre nuevo para el mundo nuevo y un taller en el que se abordará la herencia intelectual de grandes próceres y pensadores de América como Simón Bolívar, Benito Juárez y Augusto César Sandino.
     La primera Conferencia Internacional por el Equilibrio del Mundo se realizó en 2003. En aquella ocasión se pidió a la UNESCO crear un Consejo Mundial para divulgar el ideario martiano. El proyecto fue aprobado y agrupa a 48 prestigiosas figuras como el uruguayo Mario Benedetti y el colombiano Gabriel García Márquez.
     Esta fecha convoca desde hace varios años a intelectuales, científicos, profesores, estudiantes, periodistas, escritores, toda una inmensa gama de personalidades representativas de las más diversas corrientes de pensamiento, identificados por preocupaciones comunes derivados de los problemas y desafíos que enfrenta la humanidad contemporánea.
     Como resultado de ese propósito, se han llevado a cabo importantes encuentros de carácter internacional, como fueron la primera Conferencia Internacional “Por el Equilibrio del Mundo” (2003); el Coloquio Internacional “José Martí por una cultura de la naturaleza” (2004) y la recién efectuada Conferencia Internacional  “Con todos y para el Bien de Todos” (2005), conformando una trilogía de eventos cuya celebración exitosa engarzó plenamente con el pensamiento martiano y su vigencia.
     En la obra martiana se aprecia la diversidad de motivaciones que permite el vínculo con lo mejor del pensamiento cultural de América Latina, el Caribe y el resto del mundo.
     Se desarrollarán las siguientes temáticas en forma de comisiones y paneles:
  1.             Martí – Poeta, escritor y periodista 
  2.             Dimensión Social y política de José Martí 
  3.             La universidad de José Martí 
  4.             Los desequilibrios en el mundo y su repercusión 
  5.            La espiritualidad de José Martí 
  6.            La visión ambientalista en el ideario martiano 
  7.            la Humanidad frente a los dilemas globales 
  8.            Visión martiana de Nuestra América y de Estados Unidos 
  9.            Los desequilibrios económicos: consecuencias y alternativas
