Whether you have completed training or not you have an opportunity to respond and serve by being present and a witness at Chicano Park on Saturday. White nationalists have planned to show up and contend with the neighborhood. In addition to the ACLU, many San Diego religious, and, of course, the SD police department will be out in force.Being a conservative who does not cheerlead President Trump can make one feel like the Prophet Amos. Amos went to Israel at a time of great prosperity to tell the nation God would destroy it for failing to care for its widows, its poor, its orphans and its refugees. Everyone looked around at the success, riches, and plenty and mocked the prophet. --  Erick Erickson

Dear Jeoffrey,
Good afternoon! I am reaching out to you as a trained legal observer with a request from the Chicano Park Steering Committee. A large gathering will take place to protect Chicano Park from reports of potential protest or vandalism, and the Steering Committee has requested a few legal observers to be present to monitor the park throughout the day. We ask that individuals commit to a 3.5 hour shift in either the morning or afternoon.
In addition, in order to serve as a legal observer for this event, the organizers require that you attend an orientation meeting prior to the event for history and context of the plan for the day. The orientation will take place on Friday, February 2nd at 2:30pm at Chicano Park, at Cesar E. Chavez Pkwy and Logan Ave, San Diego 92113. 

When: Saturday, February 3rd
Shift 1: 9:00am - 12:30pm
Shift 2: 12:30pm - 4:00pm
Where: Chicano Park, at Cesar E. Chavez Pkwy and Logan Ave, San Diego 92113.
