*Hi Compas! *

*****************************************SB54, known colloquially as the
Sanctuary State law or formally as the California Values Act, is up for a
vote this week, and Southern California Assembly members Sabrina Cervantes,
Tom Daly, and Sharon Quirk-Silva have still not committed to supporting it.*

The bill will ensure that California's state resources aren’t used to help
the federal government carry out mass deportations and tear families apart.

*Can you please call the Assembly members above and ask others to do the
same?* Most helpful if you are registered to vote in one of their districts.

You can pass this message along to folks and have them check their Assembly
district - http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/.

Cervantes, Daly, and Quirk-Silva are in the Capitol this week, so the best
way to make sure your comment is delivered ASAP is to call their Capitol
offices, using the phone numbers below.

Just tell the person who answers your name, where you live, and that you'd
like to leave a comment for the Assembly member in support of SB54. Here
are some talking points:

   - California has the largest immigrant population in the country;
immigrants and their families are part of our communities and California is
   their home.
   - Limited state and local resources should not be used to carry out the
work of federal immigration officials in deportations.
   - SB54 will allow California to lead the way as a sanctuary state and
encourage other states to follow suit.
   - It's the right thing to do and it just makes sense.

*Daly*: (916) 319-2069

*Quirk-Silva*: (916) 319-2065

*Cervantes*: (916) 319-2060
