Hi all, I recall that we decided at some point to not do substantive conversations about proposals, etc., on our listserv. So, hopefully, this will be talked out at the next delegates council. That said, as a proponent of doing these letters, I see nothing "either or" about sending letters and attending the meetings of groups we hope to engage. We have also seen from some of us bringing up affiliation with CRSD at the meetings of the San Diego Rally Against Hate, that it is a problem to try to talk with folks about CRSD if they have not first had a chance to read what we say about ourselves (our docs). The letters would contain our docs. If some groups reply positively to the letters (and/or to some of us going to their meetings to talk about CRSD working with them) then it is also very likely that we will need to attend more than just one meeting together with that group. It took us several months to arrive at our idea of CRSD. We may expect it to be a substantial conversation with each group. It could be a good edit of the letters to add a line stating we would like to attend one of their meetings to begin the conversation with them, and asking them if we could do that. Monty

Hi all,Colectivo Zapatista has reviewed both versions of the outreach letter. We recognize that time and effort were put in writing both of these, and we do appreciate that. However, we think that if we really want to outreach to organizations to connect and build with them, it may be better to ask if we (1 or 2 ppl from CRSD) can attend one of their mtgs. to invite them personally and possibly have a dialogue with them. In person, whoever goes on behalf of CRSD, can speak and touch on all of the info mentioned in the letter. Also, in place of the letter, our thoughts were to maybe have something a lot more concise and to the point of what we would like to meet with them about. Maybe even bullet points. I know this may seem like we're throwing a wrench in this outreach process but we are truly thinking of a way we can build solid relationships and community. We respect the process in which CRSD works, so if the idea of the outreach letter stays as is, we do not feel comfortable in having our name on the letter, so we would like Colectivo Zapatista removed from the outreach letter. Con respeto,Colectivo Zapatista
