Communications Committee Proposal

New Listserv



Whereas: Collective Resistance San Diego (CRSD) uses the confusingly named
Sdalliance list as its primary communication AND there is no way to change
the name of this listserv



Whereas: This list consists of 88 random persons who signed an interest
list at an early meeting AND many of these persons are indifferent or
hostile to the goals of CRSD.



Whereas: CRSD is now an established formal alliance of organizations and
select individuals with a formal membership.



Whereas: Many members of CRSD constituent organizations are not on
Sdalliance.



Therefore: The listserv Sdalliance cannot fulfill the functions of “*The
listserv of CRSD” *as defined by the Communications Committee Charter and
must be replaced. The procedure for this action shall be as follows if this
proposal is approved:



The Communications Committee of CRSD will create a new listserv consisting
of members of our member organizations who wish to receive CRSD
communications and individuals recognized by the Council as members of CRSD.



The constituent organizations and the Council will each create and submit
to the Communications Committee a list of their members and their emails
that wish to receive CRSD emails. This shall be the basis of the new list.



An announcement of the migration from the Sdalliance list will be made on
the Sdalliance list with instructions to contact the Delegate’s Council if
you wish to be identified as a CRSD member and receive emails.



The new list shall be called “CRSD” pending availability at resist.ca



Once established the new listserv shall be the primary communication
vehicle for CRSD and Sdalliance shall no longer be used for official
communication.
