[Sdalliance] DAF comments on the agenda for Sunday

All,

DAF has a few suggestion regarding this Sunday's meeting. In everyone of
these mass meetings our agenda has been too ambitious, in that we have
never been able to get through all of it. Also, we approved a delegate
council process in the last meeting, so we should be able send most issues
to committees or the council of delegates.

DAF suggests we only address issues formative to the Alliance at this mass
meeting. These items being, (1) a name for the Alliance, (2) the Mission
Statement, and (3) the last structural issue of how committees will work
with liberals (both individuals and groups).

We suggest we also have some time for committee report backs as well, as is
currently allowed for in the draft-agenda. However, these should be
report-backs and a chance for in-put, and not a full blown discussion to a
decision. Mass meetings are just not a good place to make decision.
However, specific foundational questions have to be decided this way. So we
suggest keeping the agenda to those items.

To wrap up, DAF suggests keeping the agenda to the following, not
necessarily in this order:

(1) Name;
(2) Mission Statement;
(3) Question re liberal membership in open/campaign committees; and
(4) Committee Report Backs

in Solidarity,
Justin
