*Note on "center" v. "amplify"*
Perhaps others understand this differently but I learned "center" was a
deliberate replacement for "amplify." Amplify means oppressed people cannot
speak for themselves and instead require those with power to say louder
what has already been said. "Center" means those voices are present,
prioritized, and able to speak for themselves. For our purposes I believe
"center" is the appropriate term
