Angela, or somebody,  Please post to this list a copy of the current draft(s) of the Mission Statement and Points of Unity so that we all can consider concrete suggestions as to what needs to be added, changed, or dropped to the current mission statement and points of unity material. Also, if anybody has not seen it yet, I am attaching a copy of the Statement of Principles that were used by the (now disbanded) San Diego Socialist Unity Network (S.U.N.). Fred sent us a copy. S.U.N. was a working group of socialist organizations here for a few years, including Solidarity, Democratic Socialists of America, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, Communist Party, and International Socialist Organization. We might want to borrow or steal some from the S.U.N. document. I also think we might want to borrow or steal some from the new 'We Stand' Statement. See at https://www.standforpeaceandjustice.org/ This newer Statement has more content about current conditions. It is also using language which may be more agreeable to libertarian socialists, libertarian communists, anarchist-communists, anarcho-syndicalists, anarcha-feminists, as well as Marxist-Humanists, Council Communists, Autonomists, Zapatistas and others. Yet, with some good collective editing, it might be workable also for folks in many of the socialist party or pre-party organizations we want to work with. Monty

Hi all,
 The Mission Statement Committee will meet Tuesday Jan. 3rd from 6:30 - 9:00 pm at the Brown Building in City Heights. The address is: 4133 Poplar St San Diego, CA 92105 United States.  This date and time is based off the doodle responses and with consideration to the meeting plans of the other committees. Please take time before this meeting to come up with some concrete suggestions as to what needs to be added, changed, or dropped to the current mission statement and points of unity material.  Please contact Rebecca or Angela if you have any questions, or are unable to attend the meeting but would like to provide some input.
