Hi folks,

See the email below for some updates from NOII about the Refugees Welcome
campaign.  Unfortunately the action we planned for today did not end up
happening (not enough people) :(

We should meet to plan an action in the coming weeks, though.

Hey friends,

A few important updates about the website launch.


   1.

   Please go and check it out now and suggest any and all edits by the end
   of the evening: http://refugeeswelcome-shd.nationbuilder.com/. We may
   not be able to make all the edits but it would be good to catch all
   mistakes before we launch.



   1.

   VERY IMPORTANT: Please go to the page
   <http://refugeeswelcome-shd.nationbuilder.com/> and create events that
   you are hosting if you know the details just so that when people start
   coming they can find events to go to



   1.

   We are going to be launching the website on Monday (Sep 14) with images
   on facebook and Twitter - we would really need you to share them. It’s
   going to be a call for a month of actions. There will also be an email that
   you can adapt and forward to your lists.



   1.

   On Tuesday, Sep 15, we will launch another round asking people to take
   the pledge online on our website to welcome refugees.
   1.

      A facebook image that you can share.
      2.

      A twitter image you can re-tweet.
      3.

      We are going to try and get prominent social media users to tweet or
      facebook the page -- saying that they pledged.



   1.

   On Friday, Sep 18, we will launch a call for people to upload images of
   themselves holding up a sign saying
   1.

      “I am joining actions to insist #RefugeesWelcome refugeeswelcome.ca”
      2.

      Please help distribute it widely.



   1. Once we hit a critical number of pledges -- 5,000 or 10,000 -- we
   will release another set of images to push it further, and possibly even
   media releases.
