[Sanctuarycity_hamilton] Friday Rally

Hi folks,

I'm also available Tuesday night to talk (7:30 work for others?).  I like
the idea of a rally to fit in with the general call for 10 days of action
from Refugees Welcome (Oct 9-19). I agree that doing something on the 9th
(the night of artcrawl) will make the most impact. After doing this, it
would be good to check in and see where this momentum is going to take us
as a group (in terms of focus, projects, etc).

I also like the idea of linking to broader Islamophobia and to specific
struggles going on in Hamilton.  I know I've been really neglectful in
sending out minutes from the last meeting, but here is an article on the
case with the Somali woman facing deportation/detention we were talking
about in the last meeting.

I will try and follow up with a couple people about the case and see where
things are at (maybe someone will be able to speak to it at this rally.
