Updates on Toronto Meeting: Text updates from Maria and Ani, Good attendance, though mostly people from Toronto, networking, no decisions were made at that time

Colonlialism 101: Caitlin contacted the Indigenous Solidarity Working group and they seemed like they would be able to do a work shop for us. Looking at a weekend in Late march April, about 3 hours. Would invite Danielle Be to participate, but not ask her to do all the work. Will follow up with ISWG, and send out doodle poll about weekend that works.

Feb 18 Meeting. Kitchener is doing work to be a Sanctuary City would like our advice on how we did it. Maria is going to drive, Caitlin will go as well. Trudi is interested in coming to learn more about what we did as well.

City Accountability: Maria and Tessa to meet and compile list of departments and contacts in those departments

Important Proposal Below
April 1 now March 1st event: April is the 4 year anniversary of the change to the TFW law that allows workers to stay in Canada for 4 year, but that have to leave for a min of 4 years. Meaning a large number of workers could become undocumented this year.

Hussan from Migrant Workers Alliance for Change is asking people to hold and event/rally/action on March 1st, to put pressure to change this law before its implementation.

Our discussion was that 3 weeks is not enough lead time to pull off a rally in Hamilton, put desire is to still to do a rally on April 1st but use March 1 as promotion.

Caitlin's Proposal: Do a rally outside of Federal Building or other target on April 1st. On March 1st, 6-10 people to leaflet (ideally, somewhere in east Hamilton, Limeridge, and Jackson) for the rally and get petitions (done through MWAC) signed. Try to write an op-ed to the spec for March 1st. After this Network with organizations to try to get a turn out for the April 1 Rally.

So that is what happened, yesterday. If folks can let me know about meeting on Monday that would be great.
