Hi everyone,
Sorry, I haven't been able to make it out to meetings for awhile. Work and health issues have taken up a lot of my time. I won't be able to be involved on a regular basis, but would like to be involved on special projects. I would like to help out with the forum. Let me know what needs to be done.
I'll have to get back to you about Dec. 12th.

So because it was just me and Blake last night we didn't really have a meeting. Here are updates and thoughts from me...
At this point, we're probably not able to do an action of our own for the December 10th date, but I support endorsing the Dec 11 event - and I think it looks good.  If we're good with doing this, we can post the callout through FB and email this coming week.  Thanks for connecting about this, Ajit.
Event: From my end, updates are that Tings from NOII-TO will find us someone to speak at our event once we can set a date.  I also have a meeting with someone next week who has done work with Colombian refugees who might know someone who can participate.  Also, here is Hodon Ali's email (if you want to get in touch with her, Sarah) hodanali at yahoo.com or hodan at newcomerhealth.ca I am pretty open when it comes to dates in January - I'll let other people's schedules dictate though we should decide fairly soon.
I screwed up in getting back to the folks at Design Assign.  We are trying to reschedule for next Wednesday - I'll keep folks posted.  Really sorry about adding an unnecessary delay on that!
The tower has put up our posters and is happy to do more if we want.  Do folks want to? Is there other messaging we'd like to get out there (I can change the poster easily if we want to respond to other issues coming up - like the fact that libs are basically relying on private sponsored numbers to make up their commitments?).  If folks want to do this, let me know and I can send them to Sarah to get printed.
The CCR presentation went pretty well.  I met some folks from Victoria and Vancouver who look like they are doing some super solid work - hopefully more to come on those connections.
Okay, I think that is all from me for the moment. At least as far as work goes - fun email to follow shortly...:)

I wanted to ask, does Sanctuary Hamilton want to endorse as a group the event? It's being organized by YCL (not a 'YCL' promoted event, there might be a YCL endorsement and some folks may bring a banner), Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War, McMaster Muslims for Peace and Justice, and Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights - McMaster.
