Subject: Come celebrate International Migrants Day with the migrant worker community :)

Hey Maria,

This International Migrants Day (December 18) join a gathering of caregivers, farmworkers, migrant workers, migrant justice activists and allies hosted by the Caregivers Action Centre, Justicia for Migrant Workers, Migrante, No One Is Illegal - Toronto, other organizations in the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change and the Migrant Sex Worker Project. We want to build community, share stories, strengthen our movement and celebrate with you.

We would love it if you, and 1-3 other people from your organization that can join us on December 18th, 2015 at 7pm at 350 Victoria Street. Please RSVP by clicking here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12dcaaalQ7iS2873yaEJwerGRbMh5QjOku8Mqk6Nl0B4/viewform>. Please ask your guests to RSVP too. This is an invitation-only event, so we ask you to please do not post widely.

Note that this event will follow the annual International Migrant Day gathering and candlelight vigil by Justicia for Migrant Workers at Chinese Railroad Workers Monument at 5:30pm.

2015 has been a pivotal year. Over the last 12 months:

· Migrant workers won protections against recruiters in Ontario!

· Forced clawbacks of Caribbean agricultural workers wages were removed!

· There were two increases to the minimum wage for all Ontario workers!

· A movement for support for refugees is growing across the country!

· We launched Canada's first cross-country migrant worker rights<http://migrantrights.ca/en/home/> coalition!

These changes are happening in the context of rising xenophobia and racism against migrant workers who are blamed for stealing Canadian jobs, and refugees and migrants, particularly Muslims, who are equated with terrorists.

So on December 18th, join us to celebrate our victories and re-commit to working together. Don't miss the amazing performances, storytelling and art exhibits by migrant workers. There will be food. There will be laughter. There will be music. There will be all of us.

December 18, 2015. 7pm. 380 Victoria Street. RSVP here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12dcaaalQ7iS2873yaEJwerGRbMh5QjOku8Mqk6Nl0B4/viewform>.
