[Sanctuarycity_hamilton] Posters for you! (Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers)

Hey Maria!
(Replying All as this would be pertinent for all the cities.)
In terms of format, we have 4 speakers - either myself or another MWAC
organizer - and three workers. The MWAC organizer would start with overall
context, locating MW issues within immigration, and labour debates, and
outlining provincial and federal campaigns. Followed by the three workers
who would add further context, political challenges, and priorities for
change. This section should take about an hour.
Other then that, I am hoping that we can come up with a format which is
most effective for the local context. This might look like: some community
organizers from the region speaking; breakout groups facilitated by us or
by local organizers; just an open Q&A session; creating resolutions or even
going as far as developing future actions if there is a local group that is
able to bottom line it.
I am hoping I can speak with all of you on the phone to nail down the
specifics for each of the cities.
In terms of mainstream media, I still need to get more direction from the
workers involved in terms of their comfort levels. Similarly, I think the
decision around media needs to be made in terms of the local context -- as
in we could do a scrum before the event, or have recordings during, or not
at all.
Hope this is helpful.
