[RhythmAgogo] Rhythm A Logo!

I agree, Carolyn... I do like the colours, but I think pricing out a single colour screen versus a full-colour print will be an important factor.
Bruce Tucker at Tuckers T-shirts did like 20 single colour screens on white Ts for me a couple years ago for about $250, and was very accessible. I am thinking of ordering steelpan t-shirts from him as well, so maybe we could get a bulk discount. I need a logo or other distinctive artwork though (who do I know that is creative like that, Fred? lol).
We could get a Rhythm Agogo banner done up... full colour... maybe even sponsored for the cost. That may help us present the original full colour logo in case we do choose single colour for shirts. Just a thought. Would be cool to have a banner to carry in a parade or march, or to suspend on a stage while we perform.
I've included the link so you can peruse his portfolio.

I think we should do an option for t-shirts with the full colour - I like Fred's original design. If we're getting paid for the workshops, this can supplement the cost of the t-shirts. I think we should ask folks to chip in for the t-shirt cost, but to keep it accessible, pay what you can.

I love the logo. I think Corey's suggestion is solid, to have a simplified, two-tone version for the t-shirts. Would that be possible, Fred?I think if we had it so the writing, the outer ring, and every second ring thereafter were one colour (say, green) and the other rings were the same colour as the shirt (say, red) that could look really cool, without being prohibitively expensive to print. Thoughts?I'd like to suggest we move on this quickly, and that once all have our shirts, we take a new group photo with as many of us out as possible. We can then use that for promotions -- including, hopefully, for the Ness site and maybe even the paper programme they put out.I'm wondering if folks are willing to pay individually for personal shirts; whether you'd be willing to pay more shirts (and printing) that are local, sweat-free, and/or better fitting; what shirt and logo colours you prefer; and whether we should also get shirts printed for sale as merchandise (and in the latter case, how to finance the printing). I will send out a survey asking these questions more precisely soon.Cheers! On Mar 2, 2016 1:29 PM, "Lori Healy" <loribhealy at yahoo.ca> wrote:

Hola! With all
the excitement and applications, maybe it's a good idea
to get the logo finalized? Based on the votes when I first
sent this out, #1 was the winner. Cool all
around?

Happy Days, Friends!Thank you all for sharing
your thoughts on the logo questions I sent out. From the
responses, there were a few things in common - circles,
trees, many colours, and lots of funk!
What immediately came to mind was the rings of
tree: similar to sound waves, natural, inclusive, and makes
for a fun visual. I created 3 versions with that in mind,
all with a slightly different feel. Have a look and let me
know a few things:
- Does the tree ring concept connect with Rhythm
Agogo?- If so, do you have a fave
concept?- Anything else you can think of for the
colours, image, font, etc.
Let me know in the next couple days.

Good evening amigos! To get the logo ball
rolling, I'm sending out a few questions that will help
me capture our group vibe. Please send me some of the first
things that pop into mind. :)
- If Rhythm Agogo were a natural object, what
would it be?
- If Rhythm Agogo were a person, what would be
our personality? (funky? fun? passionate?
others?)
- Think about a gig we played recently. What
colours come to mind?
- You put on your brand new Rhyth Agogo shirt,
how do you feel?
Have some fun with your answers and add anything
else that comes to mind along the way.
Drumming along!
Fred
