We have to file a separate submission for each workshop/performance. We're
looking at one performance at the drum and dance circle, one workshop at
the drum and dance circle, and one workshop in the children's area.

For the performance, Corey has suggested we split into two teams and
alternate for the hour, with a full-ensemble finale. We talked about trying
to find a rapper or other vocal artist to accompany us, as a possibility,
though that doesn't necessarily need to be in our application.

For our drum and dance circle workshop, my suggestion is an introduction to
polyrhythms (that is, multiple interlocking rhythms) and breaks, possibly
titled Beats and Breaks. Basically giving them a sampling of what we do as
a group.

For the children's area, Jana has suggested the name Percussion Party. This
can include a performance aspect and then getting the kids to build
percussion instruments out of things like plastic cups, tin cans, sticks,
stones, balloons, and rubber bands. We could teach them some very basic
rhythms and get them to jam along with us for the finale.
