Awesome, Fred! You are brilliant.
I like the first one the best, the second one second best, and the third one third best. I did the fingerprint thing, and the mild optical illusion aspect of the first one.
I am wondering about some practical considerations, which I probably should have thought to mention before, but which hadn't occurred to me at all. One is, how well will each of these logos miniaturize? Like, will they be readable if they're small, say on a business card? And how will they look monochrome, if we need to do that? I'm wondering about how this will bear upon get t-shirts made -- might it cost us more to have multicolour graphics printed on our shirts than to have a single colour? Does anybody know the folks at Hardpressed (http://hardpressed.ca/)? I'm thinking that could be a good local option for getting the tees made up, and that they could answer that question.
Anyway, for the above reasons, I favour logo prototype #2. I think its nice, clean design will make it easy to re-size and re-colour as need be.
Excitement!!

Wow. I love these all so much. I think I prefer either the 1st or 3rd.
The first one I like how it also kind of looks like tree rings and also a thumbprint and sound vibrations moving outward. Also the colours and shape. The third one I like how vibrant it is and the overall design looks really fun.
The second one I like how simple it is with clean lines, and the rainbow, but I still like the other two better.
Thanks for your work on this Fred.Carolyn

I think those are awesome! I particularly like the second with the rainbow colours and cleaner lines.
What if the tree-ring concept was reflected in the skin of a djembe, so it appears like a rainbow-filled goblet?

Happy Days, Friends!Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on the logo questions I sent out. From the responses, there were a few things in common - circles, trees, many colours, and lots of funk! What immediately came to mind was the rings of tree: similar to sound waves, natural, inclusive, and makes for a fun visual. I created 3 versions with that in mind, all with a slightly different feel. Have a look and let me know a few things:- Does the tree ring concept connect with Rhythm Agogo?- If so, do you have a fave concept?- Anything else you can think of for the colours, image, font, etc. Let me know in the next couple days. :)FOn Mon, Sep 28, 2015 at 6:36 PM, Fred Reibin <f.reibin at gmail.com> wrote:Good evening amigos! To get the logo ball rolling, I'm sending out a few questions that will help me capture our group vibe. Please send me some of the first things that pop into mind. :)- If Rhythm Agogo were a natural object, what would it be?- If Rhythm Agogo were a person, what would be our personality? (funky? fun? passionate? others?)- Think about a gig we played recently. What colours come to mind?- You put on your brand new Rhyth Agogo shirt, how do you feel?Have some fun with your answers and add anything else that comes to mind along the way. Drumming along!Fred
