[Radmedia] Meeting Monday Feb 7 @ 6.30 Rhizome

hey all,
i'm actually painting VIVO tomorrow, and we're on a tight schedule. unless
things go super smooth i'll have to miss the meeting as well. but am excited to
participate in the planning. especially if we're taking a broad definition of
'media'... inviting folk who also understand their art or poetic practice and
networks as a method of disseminating radical info and ideas. lately i've been
thinking more and more in terms of "information tactics". independent media,
independent publishing, and lefty-art discourse are all part of the same
ideological project. we should be more self actualized in how we're leaning on
one another. think through how one group of heads can support the other in what
they do best... and vice versa. there are a number of organizer/artists in
portland and san fran that i'd be into inviting. the factory school collective
in new york is a great radical literary press with some seriously brilliant
public programming going on. and there's this noise collective 'ultrared' from
toronto that would be really excited with the sound actions happening in town.
plus this would also open up arts funding channels for financial support.
hopefully i'll be there. but if not, keep me in the loop.
yours, truly
n

Also I want to toss the idea around of having the conf be the weekend
after the Vic Bookfair and host a mini bookfair / tabling during the conf.
