[Radmedia] Meeting Monday Feb 7 @ 6.30 Rhizome

Hey folks

Sorry I can't be there on Monday, but I'm hoping to put time into this  
when I'm back in town (in March).

I have a suggestion for a keynote speaker, his name is Leroy Moore, I  
heard him speak at the allied media conference in detroit and his talk  
was off the hook. He works with Poor Magazine in San Francisco.

 From a distance I can take on some grant writing if need be, and like  
I said, I'm happy to put time into this in the spring. Also it would  
probably be worth getting in touch with VIVO now if we want to use  
their space... Seems the've gotten a bit stricter about rentals. Info  
below.

SPONSORSHIPS

In accordance to with the mission of the Satellite Video Exchange  
Society,
VIVO MEDIA ARTS CENTRE provides support to its members and other non- 
profit
organizations. Individuals or groups may apply to Management using the
following guidelines:

    * Management will review proposals at regularly scheduled meetings.
All requests must be received IN WRITING a minimum of 1 month in  
advance.
Last minute requests will not be considered.
    * Management works with a finite budget for sponsorship support  
during
each 12 month period. The amount of project support is contingent on  
funds
available.
    * All sponsorships are subject to the same conditions as stated in  
the
access policies.

Sponsorship Equipment Requests

    * The Society can support a maximum of a 40% discount on facilities
and equipment.
    * The member/ organization must pay 60% in cash.

Sponsorship Venue Requests

    * The Society can support a MAXIMUM of 50% discount for studio  
rental.
    * Management cannot offer any discount on the technicians' and venue
managers' fees.

Considerations:

    * Merit of the project re: content, conceptual and artistic
development.
    * Reflection of equity initiatives as outlined in the Equity Policy.
    * Evidence of the ability to complete the project.
    * Access to media facilities elsewhere.

Notice: All agreements are null and void if payment is not received in
advance and if the project is not completed according to the scheduled
outlined.

Events & Exhibitions Donations

*All requests for donations that include studio needs, equipment needs,
venue management, etc. from VIVO require a formal written application.
*Requests must be made at least 2 months before the event date.

The following items are required in any proposal:
1. Two proposed dates/timeframe for the screening/exhibition.
2. A 200-word description explaining why the donation is required.
3. An itemized list of donations required.
4. A 200-word description of how this donation will benefit VIVO and its
community as a whole.
5. A concise (maximum two page) personal and/or organizational CV.
