Venezuelan Ministry of External Affairs and President of the Simon Bolivar
Institute for Peace and Solidarity Among Peoples. As a diplomat, he was
Venezuela’s Chargé d’affaires to the United States of America (2017-2018),
and he has represented Venezuela in the United States (2014-2018) and
Brazil (2010-2014).

*INDHRIANA PARADA*, Venezuelan lawyer, expert in human rights and member of
the Free Alex Saab Movement. Indhriana is the author of the new book, “The
Kidnapping of Alex Saab: A Legal Analysis,” and will be speaking directly
from Venezuela.

*MICHELLE ELLNER*, CODEPINK Women for Peace, Latin America Campaign
Coordinator. Michelle was born in Venezuela and has worked with community
based programs in Venezuela designed to promote productive endeavors. She
is an analyst of U.S.-Venezuela relations.

At the end of November, talks between the democratically elected government
of Venezuela and the Venezuelan opposition concluded in Mexico with a
partial agreement. In response, the U.S. government continued taking steps
to allow Chevron to carry out “resume limited natural resource extraction
operations in Venezuela.”

However, the U.S. blockade and sanctions against Venezuela remain in full
force. The Biden Administration has not provided any relief to the
suffering imposed on the people of Venezuela. They continue to face daily
hardships and lack of access to food, medicines, everyday goods because of
the U.S. government’s attempts to strangle the economy of Venezuela.

Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab also remains unjustly held in U.S. jail. On
December 12, Alex Saab’s hearing regarding his diplomatic status started in
Miami, Florida. A Federal district judge will decide his diplomatic status
before any trial can happen. Final arguments in this important hearing will
take place on December 20, the same day as this online picket action.

Join the December 20 online picket action to hear updates and analysis on
the hearing of Alex Saab, the state of U.S.-Venezuela relations and the
everyday fight back of the people of Venezuela against U.S./Canada blockade
and sanctions!

la audiencia de Alex Saab sobre su estatus diplomático. Un juez de distrito
federal decidirá su estatus diplomático antes de que pueda llevarse a cabo
cualquier juicio. Los alegatos finales en esta importante audiencia tendrán
