> This online picket action in solidarity with Venezuela has been called by
many Venezuela solidarity organizations and individuals across Canada

This action is taking place at an important time for organizing solidarity
with Venezuela. There are currently negotiations taking place in Mexico
between the democratically elected government of President Maduro and the
so-called opposition. After boycotting several elections, the right-wing
opposition has been forced to participate in the regional and municipal
elections in Venezuela in November.

Meanwhile, we can be certain that the United States and their allies,
including Canada, are working full force on their campaign to overthrow
President Maduro and reverse the gains of the Bolivarian revolutionary
process.  In a recent article Jim Risch (Republican – Idaho) who is the
ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee wrote an important
opinion for NBC News. In it he states, “The [Biden] administration should
increase pressure on the Maduro regime…These include persuading our
European allies to promptly match U.S. and Canadian sanctions,” and calls
for increased U.S. intervention in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

This is a signal that we must work towards building a stronger movement
against the heavy and unjust sanctions, threats, and attacks on Venezuela
by the United States, Canada, and their allies. This includes during the
federal election in Canada, where we must continue to raise our voices
against Canada’s criminal sanctions and hold the government accountable for
their complicity in U.S.-led attempts to destabilize Venezuela.

Join in the seventh monthly online picket against U.S./Canada sanctions on
Venezuela to add your voice to the millions of people in Venezuela working
every day to defend Venezuela’s sovereignty and self-determination!

*** Everyone is encouraged to make protest signs, display banners, or wear
t-shirts in solidarity with Venezuela. These can be displayed in a group
photo at the end of the online picket!
1)    The program will begin with invited speakers and greetings.
2)    In concluding the online picket, those who wish to participate in the
photo will be able to turn on their cameras to join in! More specific
instructions will be given during the online picket.

Esta acción se da en un momento importante para la organización de la
solidaridad con Venezuela. Actualmente se están llevando a cabo
negociaciones en México entre el gobierno democráticamente electo del
presidente Maduro y la oposición. Después de boicotear varias elecciones,
las negociaciones han impuesto a la oposición derecha que debe participar
