He has also organized several media activities and events to foster people to people diplomacy in Kenya. Booker has participated in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th African solidarity committee with Cuba.

>> IKE NAHEM - Longtime anti-imperialist, socialist activist and revolutionary Marxist. Ike is a founder of the New York-New Jersey Cuba Si Coalition and is a central organizer of the U.S.-Cuba Normalization Conference committee. He is a retired Amtrak Locomotive Engineer and member of Teamsters Union and Railroad Workers’ United. Author of “The Life of Fidel Castro: A Marxist Appreciation” and many other essays widely circulated online.

>> CAMILO TORRES – Member of the national executive of the Honduras Cuba Friendship Association, former president of the Siguatepeque branch, a militant and organizer since the second arrival of the Cuban medical brigades in Honduras in solidarity with those affected by Hurricane Mitch.

>> GRACIELA RAMÍREZ – Argentinian journalist based in Cuba. Senior editor with Resumen LatinoAmericano. Organizer for the victorious campaign to free our 5 Cuban heroes and with the International Committee for Peace Justice and Dignity.

Cuba celebrates “Cuban Cultural Days” or “Jornada de la Cultura Cubana” October 10-20, 2021. The warmth and beauty of the island nation and its people shine through many events which are being broadcast online due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.  As Cubans of all backgrounds come together to celebrate their heritage and culture, there is a pride in what Cuba has accomplished in the past year and a half of the global Covid-19 pandemic.  Visuals – of Cuban doctors and nurses, working both in Cuba and around the world; Young people going door to door to check on their neighbours; and Cuba’s ongoing vaccination campaign, which includes children from the age of 2 and up – are often included in the performances and celebrations of culture. These clearly demonstrate how Cubans see themselves today, as a country and people who put humanity first and as world leaders in this global struggle against the pandemic.

The accomplishments of Cuba have not been easy. Every step has been hindered by some aspect of the cruel and unjust U.S. blockade on Cuba. However, the world is standing with Cuba. For example, the 33 member nations of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) used their international platform to call for an end to the U.S. blockade on Cuba at their September 2021 Summit. According to the Yucatan Times, member nations of CELAC urged U.S. President Biden, “to substantially modify the application of the blockade against Cuba, and to the Congress of that country to proceed with its elimination.”

Mientras Cuba celebra la Jornada de la Cultura Cubana del 10 al 20 de octubre de 2021. La calidez y la belleza de la isla y su gente brillan a través de muchos eventos que se transmiten en línea debido a la pandemia del Covid- 19. Mientras cubanos de varios orígenes se unen para celebrar su herencia y cultura, hay un orgullo por lo que Cuba ha logrado en el último año y medio de la pandemia. Imágenes y visuales: de médicos y enfermeras cubanos que trabajan tanto en Cuba como en todo el mundo; los jóvenes que van de puerta en puerta para ayudar a sus vecinos; y la campaña de vacunación en curso de Cuba, que incluye a niños de 2 años en adelante – a menudo se incluyen en las representaciones y celebraciones de la cultura. Estos demuestran claramente cómo los cubanos se ven hoy a sí mismos, como un país y un pueblo que anteponen a la humanidad y como líderes mundiales en esta lucha global contra la pandemia.

Los logros de Cuba no han sido fáciles. Cada paso se ha visto obstaculizado por algún aspecto del cruel e injusto bloqueo estadounidense contra Cuba. Sin embargo, el mundo apoya a Cuba. Por ejemplo, las 33 naciones miembros de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC) utilizaron su plataforma internacional para pedir el fin del bloqueo de Estados Unidos a Cuba, en su Cumbre de septiembre de 2021. Según Yucatán Times, los países miembros de la CELAC instaron al presidente estadounidense Biden, "a modificar sustancialmente la aplicación del bloqueo contra Cuba, y al Congreso de ese país a proceder con su eliminación".
