Local citizens in Quw’utsun (Cowichan) unceded territory stage protest
in support of Wet’suwet’en People defending their homelands
 
[Duncan, Quw’utsun Territory, Cowichan Valley, November 24] – The Wet’suwet’en Solidarity
Cowichan (WSC) organization will be organizing a special event in solidarity with the
Wet’suwet’en land defenders and journalists recently arrested by the RCMP.
WSC views the recent unaccountable violent actions by the RCMP, and the BC
Government’s colonial and climate-crisis-denying support for Coastal GasLink illegally
(according to local traditional Indigenous laws) operating in their homelands to be deeply
troubling and unacceptable.
 
WSC is inviting all concerned citizens to show up with signs at a Signwave Protest to express
concern and show solidarity with Wet’suwet’en land defenders.
 
Date: Friday November 26, 2021
Time: 12 Noon
Location: South-west corner of Trunk Road and the Trans-Canada Highway.
