* CAROL DELGADO - distinguished Venezuelan diplomat and political analyst,
who was Venezuela’s Ambassador to Ecuador from 2014-2018 and Consul General
of the Venezuelan Consulate in New York City from 2008-2014. She is
currently dedicated to decolonial studies and investigates issues such as
the crime of aggression against Venezuela and is a member of the Network of
Intellectuals in Defense of Humanity (Venezuela Chapter).

* DIMITRI LASCARIS - lawyer, journalist and activist from Montreal, Quebec.
In 2020, Dimitri ran for the leadership of the Green Party of Canada.
Dimitri has written extensively on the government of Canada's failed
foreign policy in Latin America, including in Venezuela. In 2019, he
travelled to Venezuela on a fact-finding mission to debunk the Western
media war against Venezuela, reporting his findings for The Real News
Network.

* DON FOREMAN - Union Representative for the National Executive Committee,

*** Everyone is encouraged to make protest signs, display banners, or wear
t-shirts in solidarity with Venezuela. These can be displayed in a group
photo at the end of the online picket!

1)    The program will begin with invited speakers and greetings.

2)    In concluding the online picket, those who wish to participate in the
photo will be able to turn on their cameras to join in! More specific
instructions will be given during the online picket.



Despite mounting international condemnation, the government of the United
States and their allies, including the government of Canada have persisted
in their attacks, blockade, and sanctions against Venezuela. Nearly six
months into the term of U.S. President Biden there are no signs that his
administration is going to lift any of the cruel unilateral sanctions
imposed on Venezuela. In fact, the U.S. government has done just the
opposite, stating that lifting sanctions would be a “mistake,” and that,
“the United States is in no rush to lift sanctions.”



This blockade has come at a heavy cost to the people of Venezuela who face
shortages in food, medicines, fuel, and other basic goods. In total, the
economic, commercial, and financial sanctions are estimated to have cost
the Venezuelan economy $17 billion in revenue each year between 2017-2019.



As people living in the United States and Canada, we have the
responsibility to stand with the people of Venezuela as they defend their
sovereignty and self-determination. Let’s unite to demand an end to U.S.
and Canada sanctions and attacks against Venezuela!

A pesar de la creciente condena internacional, el gobierno de Estados
Unidos y sus aliados, incluido el gobierno de Canadá, han persistido en sus
ataques, bloqueo y sanciones contra Venezuela. Casi seis meses después del
mandato del presidente de los Estados Unidos, Biden, no hay indicios de que
su administración vaya a levantar ninguna de las crueles sanciones
unilaterales impuestas a Venezuela. De hecho, el gobierno de Estados Unidos
ha hecho todo lo contrario, afirmando que levantar las sanciones sería un
"error" y que "Estados Unidos no tiene prisa por levantar las sanciones".



Este bloqueo ha tenido un alto costo para el pueblo de Venezuela que
enfrenta escasez de alimentos, medicinas, combustible y otros bienes
básicos. En total, se estima que las sanciones económicas, comerciales y
financieras le han costado a la economía venezolana $ 17 mil millones en
ingresos cada año entre 2017-2019.



Como personas que viven en los Estados Unidos y Canadá, tenemos la
responsabilidad de apoyar al pueblo de Venezuela en la defensa de su
soberanía y autodeterminación. ¡Unámonos para exigir el fin de las
sanciones y ataques de Estados Unidos y Canadá contra Venezuela!
