> Organized by Venezuela Peace Committee in Winnipeg and the Fire This Time
Movement for Social Justice Venezuela Solidarity Campaign, and with support
of other Venezuela solidarity organizations and individuals across Canada.

Regional elections for governors, mayors, state legislatures and city
councils were held in Venezuela on November 21, 2021. The United Socialist
Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won 19 out of the 23 races for Governors and 212
of 335 of the races for mayors, sending a resounding message that they
support the Bolivarian Revolutionary process. Despite the cruel U.S.
blockade, attacks and meddling in the internal affairs of Venezuela, the
people of Venezuela voted in defense of their sovereignty and
self-determination.

In response and without any evidence, the government of the United States
claimed that the elections did not reflect the will of the people of
Venezuela. This same lie was repeated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in
Canada, which issued a statement on November 23, announcing that, “Canada
will continue to stand with the people of Venezuela in their fight to
restore democracy.”

In the U.S. and Canada especially, it is more important then ever that we
join together to demand an end to the threats, sanctions, and meddling in
Venezuela by the U.S., Canada and their allies. We must also come together
to demand the government of the United States release Venezuelan diplomat
Alex Saab immediately!

Join this monthly online picket to hear directly from three international
observers who were on the ground during the 2021 regional elections in
Venezuela. They will report on the dynamics of elections day and their
experiences from within the Bolivarian revolution.

Las elecciones regionales para gobernadores, alcaldes, legislaturas
estatales y concejales municipales se llevaron a cabo en Venezuela el 21 de
noviembre de 2021. El Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) ganó 19
de las 23 elecciones para gobernadores y 212 de 335 de las elecciones para
alcaldes, enviando un rotundo mensaje de que apoyan el proceso
Revolucionario Bolivariano. A pesar del cruel bloqueo, los ataques y la
intromisión de Estados Unidos en los asuntos internos de Venezuela, el
pueblo de Venezuela votó en defensa de su soberanía y autodeterminación.

En respuesta y sin ninguna prueba, el gobierno de Estados Unidos afirmó que
las elecciones no reflejaron la voluntad del pueblo de Venezuela. Esta
misma mentira fue repetida por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de
Canadá, que emitió un comunicado el 23 de noviembre, anunciando que “Canadá
seguirá apoyando al pueblo de Venezuela en su lucha por restaurar la
democracia”.

En EE.UU. y Canadá especialmente, es más importante que nunca que nos
unamos para exigir el fin de las amenazas, las sanciones y la intromisión
en Venezuela por parte de EE.UU., Canadá y sus aliados. ¡También debemos
unirnos para exigir al gobierno de los Estados Unidos que libere al
diplomático venezolano Alex Saab de inmediato!

Únase a este protesta mensual en línea para escuchar directamente a tres
observadores internacionales que estuvieron en el terreno durante las
elecciones regionales de 2021 en Venezuela. Informarán sobre la dinámica de
la jornada electoral y sus experiencias desde dentro de la revolución
bolivariana.
