[pr-x] A one-time political message from the CP-BC

Sorry Kim;

As much as I appreciate what you are saying I will not be voting communist this year.  I would like to see an eco-socialist project get off the ground but it does not seem to be there yet!

Neither will I be voting for the NDP.  Horgan has demonstrated his disdain for women, Indigenous, the environment and more.  He has pulled egomaniac Andrew Weaver into his camp.

I’ll be voting green and encouraging as many others as possible to do so.  The last thing we want in BC right now is a majority NDP or Liberal government.  We need other  electable voices in the legislature.

Thanks for your work.

LL

Subject: [pr-x] A one-time political message from the CP-BC

(This political message is going out to friends and contacts who usually receive my notices about upcoming events, such as the Left Film Nights at the Centre for Socialist Education in Vancouver. If you are already committed to supporting another political party in the Oct. 24 election, feel free to ignore this email. But if you are interested in the views and platform of the Communist Party of BC, please click on the links below to visit our website. The nomination period for this election is extremely short - just 11 days from the announcement on Sept. 21 until the deadline for candidates to submit nominations: 1:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 2. Along with a $250 deposit and other documentation, each candidate must submit 75 signatures of eligible voters who live in the riding. This is a difficult democratic task during a pandemic If you are a Canadian citizen, 18 years old, living in Vancouver Hastings - the area between Commercial Drive to Boundary, and from Wall Street down to East 12th Ave./Grandview Highway - you can sign my nomination. This does not indicate your intention to vote for me, although that would be great. It simply means you agree that my name can be on the ballot. To arrange to sign the nomination form, simply reply to this email, or call me at 604-255-2041. Feel free to forward this message to anyone in Vancouver Hastings who might want to consider signing. Or you can sign while the campaign team collects signatures out on the street. We will be the folks wearing masks and holding clip-boards, at the intersection of E. Hastings and Nanaimo, Sunday, Sept. 27, starting at 3:30 pm until 5:00. Please take care, be safe, and vote on Oct.24 - but not for the BC Liberals. We had enough of them before, to put it mildly. - KIMBALL CARIOU, CP-BC candidate, Vancouver Hastings.)

This time, say no to the capitalist crisis - vote for real change!

Premier John Horgan’s snap election during the rising wave of covid-19 cases places partisan interests ahead of health and safety. The people of British Columbia deserve better. In this campaign, we urge voters to demand fundamental social change. Electing even one Communist to the Legislature would transform the political terrain. A higher vote for Communist candidates can send a powerful message that working class and poor voters, Indigenous people, environmentalists - all those who reject the capitalist mantra of unending profits – refuse to be taken for granted......
