Rally to Stop Site-C and LNG
At BC HYDRO
333 Dunsmuir St, Vancouver
Monday, Oct. 12, 2 PM

Public · Hosted by *Coalition Against Bigotry - Pacific
<https://www.facebook.com/coalitionagainstbigotryacab/>* and *FightC
<https://www.facebook.com/fightsitec/>*
We are gathering in solidarity with the West Moberly First Nations and
all Peace Valley protectors to say:
BC NEEDS FOOD FOR OUR FUTURE!
SITE C & LNG are NOT climate solutions!
Please join us in upholding our responsibilities to protect the land and
water
We understand that EVERYONE needs to protect Northern lands such as the
rich farmlands and forests of the Peace Valley (BC’s northern
breadbasket). Food security matters. Healthy watersheds mean healthy
futures.
The UN's Committee on Racism has asked Canada to stop the Site C dam
because it violates an international convention to eliminate racism. The
Peace River has suffered previous dams (WAC Bennett dam and Peace Canyon
dam) that devastated the land, life & people. No one can afford to lose
the last intact section of the Peace River, the sacred Peace Valley, to
the destructive Site C mega dam. There are strong economic,
environmental & ethical reasons to stop this destructive, over-priced
mega dam NOW. It's not too late to stop the dam; better alternatives
exist like community-based wind & solar. For more info see

CANADA NEEDS TO HONOUR INTERNATIONAL LAW & INDIGENOUS LAW!
See you on the streets! Please invite your friends!

FightC is a non-partisan, non-violent community group committed to
stopping the Site C dam in solidarity with the Treaty 8 First Nations.
We work to raise awareness and engagement on the violation of First
Nations Treaty Rights, as well as the eviction of farmers, the
destruction of farmland, the threat to food security, and the long term
financial implications of the dam. Let’s not wait till your Hydro bills
skyrocket - let’s expose the dam for the disaster it is & strive for the
Vision of the Valley we need - Peace Valley Forever!

Coast and around the world. The objectives of the Coalition are to: -
Monitor and research all forms of bigotry in the Pacific Coast. - Raise
awareness and organise opposition to all forms of bigotry in the Pacific

As groups predominantly based out of what is known as Vancouver, British
Columbia, we acknowledge we are on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and
traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish)
and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We voice our
gratitude and respect for the peoples of this land, and work to be good
relatives.
