Come and hear an eyewitness report from Venezuela on Friday September 6! At
the end of July, two members of the Editorial Board of Fire This Time
Newspaper, Tamara Hansen and Alison Bodine, travelled to Caracas, Venezuela
as delegates to the 25th International Sao Paulo Forum. This large
anti-imperialist conference brought together thousands of people from
Venezuela and around the world and gave Alison and Tamara an eyewitness
view of what is happening on the ground in Venezuela today.

This free community event will also feature a raffle with exciting prizes
direct from Venezuela. We will be raising funds for the defense of the
Embassy Protection Collective. For 37 days in the Spring of 2019, the
Embassy Protection Collective protected the Venezuelan Embassy in
Washington, DC from take over by supporters of the U.S.-backed puppet
so-called “interim President” of Venezuela Juan Guaido. Four protectors
were arrested that now face 1 year in prison and a large fine. Read more

Today the people of Venezuela continue to face a brutal U.S.-led campaign
to overthrow their democratically elected President, Nicolas Maduro and
reverse the gains made for poor, working, and oppressed people in Venezuela
by the Bolivarian revolutionary process. As people living in the U.S. and
Canada, we have the responsibility to stand with the people of Venezuela
against U.S. and Canada sanctions, war and threats against Venezuela.

septiembre! En julio, dos miembras de la Junta Editorial del Periódico
“Fire This Time”, Tamara Hansen y Alison Bodine, viajaron a Caracas,
Venezuela, como delegadas al 25º Foro Internacional de Sao Paulo. Esta gran
conferencia antiimperialista reunió a miles de personas de Venezuela y de
todo el mundo y les dio a Alison y Tamara una vista única de lo que está
sucediendo en el terreno en Venezuela hoy en día.

Este evento comunitario gratuito también contará con una rifa con premios
emocionantes directamente desde Venezuela. Recaudaremos fondos para la
defensa del Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada. Durante 37 días en la
primavera de 2019, el Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada protegió a la
Embajada de Venezuela en Washington, DC de la toma de control de los
partidarios del títere respaldado por los Estados Unidos, llamado
"presidente interino" de Venezuela, Juan Guaidó. Cuatro protectores fueron
arrestados que ahora enfrentan 1 año de prisión y una gran multa. Lea más
