On September 24, U.S President Trump spoke at the United Nations General
Assembly attacking Cuba and Venezuela and using false pretexts to justify
the cruel and unjust U.S. blockades against both countries. Two days later,
on September 26 the Trump administration imposed new sanctions on former
Cuban President Raul Castro and all of his children. These recent and
increasing hostilities by the U.S. government are some of many inhuman
measures the Trump administration is taking to tighten the cruel blockade
on Cuba.

On September 28, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla spoke at
the United Nations General Assembly and responded to the U.S.  government’s
ongoing attacks on Cuba, he affirmed that, “economic aggression, no matter
how hard threats and blackmails might be, will not extract a single
concession from us. Those who know the history of Cubans during their long
struggle to achieve emancipation and their steadfast defense of the freedom
and justice they have conquered, will understand, beyond any doubt, the
significance, honesty and authority of these strong believes and ideas
treasured by our people.”

Join Friends of Cuba Against the U.S. Blockade on October 17 for our
monthly picket action, as we unite our voices with the Cuban people and
continue to stand up against U.S aggression and in defense of Cuba’s
sovereignty and self-determination!

**Sign the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) petition to demand that the
government of Canada fully reopen all visa services offered to Cubans in
Havana, Cuba:

El 24 de septiembre, el presidente de Estados Unidos, Trump, habló en la
Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas atacando a Cuba y Venezuela y
utilizando falsos pretextos para justificar los bloqueos crueles e injustos
de Estados Unidos contra ambos países. Dos días después, el 26 de
septiembre, la administración Trump impuso nuevas sanciones al ex
presidente cubano Raúl Castro y a sus hijos. Estas hostilidades recientes y
crecientes del gobierno de los Estados Unidos son algunas de las muchas
medidas inhumanas que la administración Trump está tomando para endurecer
el cruel bloqueo a Cuba.

El 28 de septiembre, el canciller cubano Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla habló en
la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas y respondió a los continuos
ataques del gobierno de Estados Unidos contra Cuba, afirmó que " la
agresión económica, por muy dura que sea, las amenazas y chantajes no nos
arrancarán ni una sola concesión. Quien conozca la historia de los cubanos
en la larga lucha por lograr la emancipación y en la firme defensa de la
libertad y la justicia conquistadas, entenderá sin equivocaciones el peso,
la sinceridad y la autoridad de estas convicciones y planteamientos de
nuestro pueblo.”
