*_LEFT FILM NIGHT: DOUBLE FEATURE!_*

*/*Sunday, November 24, 2019, 7 pm*
Centre for Socialist Education, on Unceded Coast Salish Territories
706 Clark Drive, Vancouver (corner of Clark & E. Georgia)/*

*_INVASION_*

In this era of "reconciliation", Indigenous land is still being taken at
gunpoint. INVASION is a new film about the Unist'ot'en Camp, Gidimt'en
checkpoint, and the larger Wet'suwet'en Nation standing up to the
Canadian government and corporations who continue colonial violence
against indigenous people. This powerful 18 minute film covers many of
the events of the last year. The Unist’ot’en Camp has been a beacon of
resistance for nearly 10 years. It is a healing space for Indigenous
people and settlers alike, and an active example of decolonization. The
violence, environmental destruction, and disregard for human rights
following TC Energy (formerly TransCanada) / Coastal GasLink’s interim
injunction has been devastating to bear, but this fight is far from over.

A collection will be taken to contribute to the camp and its legal
challenges.

*_Interviews with Evo Morales_*

The focus for the second part of our Nov. 24 Left Film Night has an
updated focus. Since our earlier announcement, right-wing forces inside
Bolivia, including the military leadership with imperialist backing,
succeeded in their drive to remove President Evo Morales from office. He
has been forced into exile. We will screen a couple of recent
international media interviews with Morales about these developments.

We also encourage people to read the following article, which provides
important details on Bolivia's electoral process, and exposes the false
narrative in the North American media which has been used to discredit
Morales.
