Enjoy an afternoon of revolutionary celebration! We will be honouring 
the life of Dr. Norman Bethune, surgeon, communist, campaigner for 
medicare, and anti-fascist in Spain and China. This month is the 80th 
anniversary of the death of Dr. Bethune in China, where he was providing 
medical aid during the struggle against Japanese occupation.

Guest speaker: Dr. Larry Hannant, Adjunct Associate Professor at the 
University of Victoria. He's the author of The Politics of Passion: 
Norman Bethune's Writing and Art and All my Politics are Poetry: A 
Political Life in Lyrics.

There will be videos on the life of Norman Bethune and the Chinese 
Revolution, plus cultural performances and light snacks. No admission, 
collection will be taken.

Event is presented by the Communist Party of BC, the Young Communist 
League, the Centre for Socialist Education, and the People's Voice.

This event takes place on the traditional, unceded, occupied territories 
of the səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and 
xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
