The U.S. government and their imperialist allies, including Canada, have been escalating their dangerous war drive against the people of Venezuela and their democratically elected President, Nicolas Maduro. The U.S. government recently backed an attempted coup against President Maduro,  increased brutal sanctions and staged dangerous provocations at Venezuela’s borders. U.S. President Trump and other officials in his administration also continue to declare that “all options are on the table” when it comes to their goals of “regime change” in Venezuela – a not so subtle threat of military intervention.

Join Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) to demand an end to the threats, sanctions and interventionist meddling by the U.S. and Canada in Venezuela! This action will also demand an end to the imperialist wars and occupations - from Iraq and Yemen, to Syria and North Korea!

Come join Mobilization Against War and Occupation for an organizing meeting. The meeting will begin with 45 minutes of news clips and multimedia; an overview of US-led wars, occupations and threats, as well as people’s resistance to imperialist attacks and intervention. The videos will especially focus on the struggle of the people of Yemen against four years of U.S.-backed Saudi war, and the people of Venezuela’s resistance to U.S. interventions against their sovereignty and self-determination.

The meeting will include discussion on past MAWO events and actions, including a report back from MAWO’s participation in the March 30th mobilization protesting the NATO summit in Washington, DC. The meeting will also plan for upcoming events, including our work in building a stronger and more united antiwar movement across the U.S./Canada border.
