This event will take place on the traditional and unceded territories of
the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the
Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.

On July 5, the people of Venezuela celebrate their Independence Day. This
year they will mark not only their independence from Spain 208 years ago,
but also their continued struggle against hostile foreign intervention –
especially from the United States.

In an attempt to force the overthrow of the democratically elected
President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, the U.S. government and their
allies, including the government of Canada have imposed brutal blockade
against the people of Venezuela. This includes over 150 sanctions which are
estimated to have cost Venezuela more than $130 billion since 2015.

On June 25, 2019 the U.S. government’s special envoy to Venezuela,
convicted war criminal Elliot Abrams, once again insisted that the military
option against Venezuela was still on the table.

In the face of imperialist sanctions and war and a vicious media campaign,
the people of Venezuela continue to defend their democratically elected
government and the Bolivarian revolutionary process. As people living in
the U.S. and Canada it is our responsibility to join with them and defend
Venezuela’s sovereignty and self-determination and demand U.S. and Canada:
Hands Off Venezuela! End the Blockade Venezuela!

This protest will also demand that all charges be dropped against members
of the Embassy Protection Collective who were arrested by the U.S.
government in their heroic defense of Venezuela’s sovereignty. For 37 days
the Embassy Protection Collective protected the Venezuelan Embassy in
Washington, DC from take over by supporters of the U.S.-backed puppet
so-called “interim President” of Venezuela Juan Guaido. Read more about

El 5 de julio, el pueblo de Venezuela celebra su Día de la Independencia.
Este año marcarán no solo su independencia de España hace 208 años, sino
también su continua lucha contra la intervención extranjera hostil,
especialmente de los Estados Unidos.

En un intento por forzar el derrocamiento del presidente de Venezuela
elegido democráticamente, Nicolás Maduro, el gobierno de los Estados Unidos
y sus aliados, incluido el gobierno de Canadá, han impuesto un bloqueo
brutal contra el pueblo de Venezuela. Esto incluye más de 150 sanciones que
se estima que le han costado a Venezuela más de $ 130 mil millones desde
2015.

El 25 de junio de 2019, el enviado especial del gobierno de los Estados
Unidos a Venezuela, el criminal de guerra condenado Elliot Abrams, insistió
una vez más en que la opción militar contra Venezuela todavía estaba sobre
la mesa.

Frente a las sanciones y la guerra imperialistas y una viciosa y mentirosa

unirnos a ellos y defender la soberanía y la autodeterminación de
Venezuela, y exigirle a los EE.UU. y Canadá: ¡Fuera de Venezuela! ¡Fin el
bloqueo contra Venezuela!

Esta protesta también exigirá que se retiren todos los cargos contra
miembros del Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada que fueron arrestados
por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos en su heroica defensa de la soberanía
de Venezuela. Durante 37 días, el Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada
protegió a la Embajada de Venezuela en Washington, DC para que no fuera
asumida por los partidarios del llamado "Presidente interino" del títere
respaldado por los Estados Unidos, Juan Guaido. Lea más sobre esta
