On June 4, 2019 the U.S. government banned U.S. cruise ships from
travelling to Cuba, and announced further restrictions on U.S. citizens
trying to visit the island. This comes one month after the unprecedented
and controversial activation of “Title III” of the Helms-Burton Act, and is
yet another unprovoked attack by the Trump administration against the Cuban
people.

"The tightening of the U.S. blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial
implementation is an attack on International Law and the sovereignty of all
States. It is the main obstacle to our development and a flagrant violation
of the human rights of all Cubans,” Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno
Rodríguez Parrilla said in a tweet in response to this new aggression by
the U.S. government.

As people around the world we echo the voice of the Cuban people and
continue standing with them in defending their self-determination and
sovereignty. Vancouver activists together with friends of Cuba in Ottawa
and Montreal, Canada, and Kiev, Ukraine will unite our voices to demand an
end to the unjust U.S. blockade against Cuba.

El 4 de junio de 2019, el gobierno de los EE. UU. prohibió que los cruceros
de los EE. UU. viajaran a Cuba y anunció nuevas restricciones a los
ciudadanos de los EE. UU. que intentaban visitar la isla. Esto ocurre un
mes después de la activación sin precedentes y controvertida del "Título
III" de la Ley Helms-Burton, y es otro ataque no provocado por la
administración de Trump contra el pueblo cubano.

"El recrudecimiento del bloqueo de EEUU vs. Cuba y su aplicación
extraterritorial es un ataque al Derecho Internacional y a la soberanía de
todos los Estados. Constituye el principal obstáculo para nuestro
desarrollo y es una flagrante violación de los DDHH de todos los cubanos",
dijo el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla
en un tweet en respuesta a esta nueva agresión por parte del gobierno de
los Estados Unidos.

Como amantes de paz, continuamos apoyando al pueblo de Cuba en la defensa
de su soberanía y contra todas las hostilidades y agresiones del gobierno
de los Estados Unidos. Activistas de Vancouver junto con amigos de Cuba en
Ottawa, Montreal, Canadá y Kiev, Ucrania unirán nuestras voces para exigir
el fin del injusto bloqueo de Estados Unidos contra Cuba.
