This event will take place on the traditional and unceded territories of
the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the
Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.

On May 24, 2019, a seven-year-old boy became one of four children that have
died while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. His life-saving procedure
would have been performed under an international medical agreement between
Venezuela and Italy, which due to U.S. sanctions has been suspended. This
is just one tragic example of the impact of the illegal blockade on
Venezuela that has been imposed by U.S., Canada and European Union. Between
2015-2018, these sanctions stole the lives of 40,000 people according to a
recent study by the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

This protest will also demand that all charges be dropped against members
of the Embassy Protection Collective who were arrested by the U.S.
government in their heroic defense of Venezuela’s sovereignty. For 37 days
the Embassy Protection Collective protected the Venezuelan Embassy in
Washington, DC from take over by supporters of the U.S.-backed puppet
so-called “interim President” of Venezuela Juan Guaido. Read more about

As the hostility and aggression of the United States, Canada and their
allies grows, the determination of the people of Venezuela to defend their
sovereignty and self-determination is also increasing. Whether in the
streets, workplaces, schools or communities, the people of Venezuela are in
constant mobilization against U.S.-led war against Venezuela. As
peace-loving people in Canada and the United States we have the
responsibility to join with them and demand U.S. and Canada: Hands Off
Venezuela!

El 24 de mayo de 2019, un niño de siete años se convirtió en uno de los
cuatro niños que murieron mientras esperaban un trasplante de médula ósea.
Su procedimiento de salvamento se habría realizado en virtud de un acuerdo
médico internacional entre Venezuela e Italia, que debido a las sanciones
de los Estados Unidos ha sido suspendido. Este es solo un ejemplo trágico
del impacto del bloqueo ilegal contra Venezuela que ha sido impuesto por
los Estados Unidos, Canadá y la Unión Europea. Entre 2015-2018, estas
sanciones se robaron la vida de 40,000 personas, según un estudio reciente
del Centro para la Investigación de Políticas Económicas (CEPR).

Esta protesta también exigirá que se retiren todos los cargos contra
miembros del Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada que fueron arrestados
por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos en su heroica defensa de la soberanía
de Venezuela. Durante 37 días, el Colectivo de Protección de la Embajada
protegió a la Embajada de Venezuela en Washington, DC para que no fuera
asumida por los partidarios del llamado "Presidente interino" respaldado

A medida que crece la hostilidad y la agresión de los Estados Unidos,
Canadá y sus aliados, también aumenta la determinación del pueblo de
Venezuela de defender su soberanía y autodeterminación. Ya sea en las
calles, lugares de trabajo, escuelas o comunidades, el pueblo de Venezuela
está en constante movilización contra la guerra liderada por los Estados
Unidos contra Venezuela. Como personas que aman la paz en Canadá y los
Estados Unidos, tenemos la responsabilidad de unirnos a ellos y exigirle a
los Estados Unidos y Canadá: ¡Manos fuera de Venezuela!
