These events will be taking place on the traditional and unceded
territories of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam
(xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.

On December 17, 2014 ALL of the Cuban 5 Heroes returned victoriously to
Cuba! Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, and Gerardo Hernández joined
Fernando González and René González and were finally reunited with their
families and the people of Cuba, after spending over 16 years held unjustly
in U.S. prisons for defending Cuba against U.S.-backed terrorism. The
return of all of the Cuban 5 to Cuba is a historic victory for human rights
and for people around the world who united to organize and win their
freedom!

Alongside the Cuban people, the struggle continues to demand an end to the
cruel United States blockade and aggression against their country. November
7, 2019 marked the annual debate and vote in the United Nations General
Assembly (UNGA) against the unjust U.S. blockade on Cuba. Although the U.S.
government continues to tighten the blockade – the world stood with Cuba
for the 28th consecutive year. The resolution passed with 187 countries
voting with Cuba against the blockade, and only 3 countries shamefully
voting in favour of the blockade (the U.S., Israel and Brazil).

However, the world’s condemnation of the blockade is not only seen at the
UNGA. Around the world groups and individuals continue to mobilize with
petitioning, social media campaigns, chanting & singing, rallying, and
protesting - all around the united demand, “¡Cuba Si! ¡Bloqueo No!” “Yes to
Cuba! No to the blockade!”

Join Friends of Cuba Against the U.S. Blockade in Vancouver on December 17
for two actions - our monthly picket action against the U.S. blockade and a
cultural night to celebrate the freedom of the Cuban 5 Heroes! The
celebration will include live music, poetry & multimedia!

Estos eventos se llevará a cabo en los territorios tradicionales del

¡El 17 de diciembre de 2014, todos los 5 Héroes cubanos regresaron
victoriosamente a Cuba! Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero y Gerardo
Hernández se unieron a Fernando González y René González y finalmente se
reunieron con sus familias y el pueblo de Cuba, después de pasar más de 16
años detenidos injustamente en las cárceles estadounidenses por defender a
Cuba contra el terrorismo respaldado por Estados Unidos. ¡El regreso de
todos los 5 cubanos a Cuba es una victoria histórica para los derechos
humanos y para las personas de todo el mundo que se unieron para
organizarse y ganar su libertad!

Junto con el pueblo cubano, la lucha continúa exigiendo el fin del cruel
bloqueo y agresión de Estados Unidos contra su país. El 7 de noviembre de
2019 marcó el debate anual y el voto en la Asamblea General de las Naciones
Unidas contra el injusto bloqueo de Estados Unidos contra Cuba. Aunque el
gobierno de EE. UU. Continúa intensificando el bloqueo, el mundo estuvo con
Cuba por 28 años consecutivos. La resolución se aprobó con 187 países que
votaron con Cuba contra el bloqueo, y solo 3 países votaron vergonzosamente
a favor del bloqueo (Estados Unidos, Israel y Brasil).

Sin embargo, la condena mundial del bloqueo no solo se ve en la AGNU. En
todo el mundo, grupos e individuos continúan movilizándose con peticiones,
campañas en redes sociales, cantos y cantos, manifestaciones y protestas,
todo en torno a la demanda unida, “¡Cuba Si! ¡Bloqueo No! ”“ ¡Sí a Cuba!
¡No al bloqueo!

Únase a Friends of Cuba Against the US Blockade en Vancouver el 17 de
diciembre para dos acciones: nuestra acción de piquete mensual contra el
bloqueo de los EE. UU. y una noche cultural para celebrar la libertad de
