On April 4, 1967 civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered a powerful antiwar speech known as “Beyond Vietnam”.  He denounced the U.S. government's cold-blooded war against the people of Vietnam and its terrible consequences at home as well, “I knew that America would never invest the necessary funds or energies in rehabilitation of its poor so long as adventures like Vietnam continued to draw men and skills and money like some demonic, destructive suction tube. So I was increasingly compelled to see the war as an enemy of the poor and to attack it as such.”
One year later Dr. King was assassinated. Today his words are truer than ever before. 
After 4 years of constant bombings and blockade, Yemen is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Saudi and UAE fighter jets deliberately bomb civilian targets with weapons from the U.S., Canada and other imperialist countries. Over 100,000 children have contracted cholera since January.  
For the past three months the U.S. government, together with the government of Canada, and their other allies have continued escalating their war and sanctions against the people of Venezuela. Deadly sanctions and the attempted coup by U.S. puppet Juan Guaido are the key components of U.S. “regime change” strategy against the democratically elected government of President Nicolas Maduro. 
As the new era of war and occupation rages on, join Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) as we demand that the U.S. and their allies, including Canada, stop their sanctions, wars and occupation against people around the world! We will also be demanding freedom for Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning, who are under attack and imprisoned for their efforts to expose U.S. war crimes.
