These events will be taking place on the traditional andunceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm),and the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.

 

((( 1 ))) MAWO ORGANIZING MEETING

 

TUESDAY April 23

7pm

Britannia Community Centre

(1661 Napier St. at Commercial Dr.)

Vancouver, Canada

 

Come join Mobilization Against War and Occupation for anorganizing meeting. The meeting will begin with 45 minutes of news clips andmultimedia; an overview of US-led wars, occupations and threats, as well aspeople’s resistance to imperialist attacks and intervention. The videos willespecially focus on the struggle of the people of Yemen against four years ofU.S.-backed Saudi war, and the people of Venezuela’s resistance to U.S.interventions against their sovereignty and self-determination.

 

The meeting will include discussion on past MAWO eventsand actions. This includes a report back from MAWO’s participation in the March26th demonstration in Ottawa marking 4 years of war on Yemen, and the March30th mobilization protesting the NATO summit in Washington, DC. The meetingwill also plan for upcoming events such as MAWO’s monthly antiwar rally andpetition campaign.
