Preferential Treatment Of Officer Charged With Manslaughter"

And - request for people to write and/or call their elected officials:

SAMPLE MESSAGE: "As a concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled of the news
that Mr. Daniel Montsion, who is accused of serious crimes in connection
with the death of Abdirahman Abdi, has been accorded special treatment by
the authorities, including being released from the police station, and thus
failing to appear for a bail hearing, in connection with the serious crimes
he is accused of. I expect that our law enforcement authorities and the
justice system will treat Mr. Montsion like any other citizen who is facing
charges for a serious crime. Criminal cases involving those in society that
hold positions of authority and prestige are often a test for our justice
system, and its ability to remain fair and impartial. I will be watching
this case closely, not only with the interest of seeing that justice is
delivered for Mr. Abdi and his family, but that our justice system continue
to reflect the values and ideals that we Canadians hold dear. I expect you,
as an elected representative, to ensure that these values and principles
are not violated during the course of this case."

Write your elected officials and send a copy to:

- Yasir Naqvi, MPP Ottawa Centre (Ynaqvi.Mpp.co at liberal.ola.org)
- Mayor Jim Watson, City of Ottawa (Jim.Watson at ottawa.ca)

Subject: Rally Against Islamophobia March 21

The Canadian Coalition of Concerned Citizens (CCCC) is planning to hold its
second protest against the adoption of motion M-103, a motion that condemns
Islamophobia. They are planning to write letters and attempt to hand them
to MPs at a rally on Parliament Hill.
The Ottawa community has successfully shut down their previous rally on
March 4th. Now we need to do it again.

We know what their organizing really means: the CCCC it a fascist
organization that wants to assimilate indigenous peoples, ban Muslim
migrants from entering the country, force Muslims living in Canada to
assimilate, end public healthcare, institute mandatory military service,
criminalize dissent, and end access to abortion.

We will not let this go unopposed. Fascism will not be given breathing room
in Ottawa.

We call on all people in Ottawa to come together and drown their hateful
rally in a sea of solidarity and resistance! Come out to *Parliament Hill
Tuesday, March 21 11:30am* to show that Islamophobes are not welcome here!

Please bring signs, banners and noise-makers to make our message as loud
and clear as possible: no platform for fascists.

Stay safe!
