 *No One Is Illegal - Ottawa reLaunch Conference*

No One Is Illegal - Ottawa is organizing a conference on migrant justice
titled “Building movement” on November 1 and 2 in Ottawa. The conference
has two key goals: to enhance community knowledge and engagement on migrant
justice; and to strengthen community partnerships between activists,
academics, immigrants, and service providers in the city.

The conference will begin on the evening of Friday, November 1 with an
opening panel at the University of Ottawa, followed by a day of workshops
on Saturday (November 2) at the Jack Purcell Centre. Workshops will be
offered on a broad range of topics, including an overview of current
immigration policy, labor practices, indigenous solidarity organizing, and
a youth focused zine-making workshop. There will also be immigration
lawyers on hand for quick consultations and advice around immigration cases
on Saturday. The conference will end with an amazing evening of spoken
word, music, and dancing at the Fall Down Gallery at 288 Bank Street.

We're excited about the conference and have already received endorsements
from the Ontario Public Interest Research Group-uOttawa
(OPIRG/GRIPO-Ottawa), Organizing for Justice, the Indigenous Peoples
Solidarity Movement - Ottawa, and the Graduate Students’ Association of the
University of Ottawa. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for free on
Saturday during the conference by local businesses and Food Not Bombs. **

All the venues for the conference are wheelchair accessible. There will
also be ASL interpretation if needed. Childcare will be provided for the
opening event on Friday evening and Saturday during the day. Limited funds
are also available to compensate for use of public transportation to come

 Personne n’est illegal- Ottawa organize une conférence de justice migrante
qui veut « Bâtir un mouvement » le 1-2 novembre à Ottawa. La conférence
aura deux buts principales : d'améliorer les connaissances de la
communauté, l'engagement envers la justice des migrantes et migrants et de
renforcir les partenariats communautaires entre les militants, les
universitaires, les immigrantes et immigrants et les fournisseurs de
services dans la ville.

La conférence commencera en soirée le vendredi 1ier novembre avec un panel
d’ouverture à l’Université d’Ottawa, suivie d'une journée d'ateliers le
samedi 2 novembre au centre Jack Purcell. Plusieurs sujets seront abordés
pendant les ateliers, y compris une vue d'ensemble des politiques
d'immigration actuelle, les normes et pratiques de travail pour les
migrantes et migrants, la solidarité autochtone, et un atelier de
fabrication de zine pour les ados. Il y aura également des avocats en droit
de l'immigration disponible samedi pour des conseils et consultations
courtes. La conférence se terminera par une soirée incroyable de « spoken
word », de musique et de danse à la Galerie Fall Down sur la rue Bank.

 Nous sommes excités pour la conférence et nous avons déjà reçu l’appui du
Groupe de recherche d’intérêt publique à l’Université d'Ottawa (OPIRG /
GRIPO-Ottawa), d’Organizing for Justice, du  Indigenous Peoples Solidarity
Movement - Ottawa et de l'Association des étudiants diplômés de
l'Université d'Ottawa. Le déjeuner et le diner seront servis gratuitement
samedi pendant la conférence par des entreprises locales et De la Bouffe
pas des Bombes.

 Tous les espaces sont accessibles en fauteuil roulant. Il y aura aussi une
interprétation de langage du signe américain. Du gardiennage sera offert
pendant le panel d'ouverture vendredi soir ainsi que samedi pendant la
journée. Des fonds limités sont également disponibles pour rembourser vos
