Octopus Books is launching a new series called Critical Engagements at the
new Centretown location. It's a series of lunch-time talks and evening book
launches on the issues we all care about.
Join us!

Workers centre in Montreal. He is active in campaigns around placement
agency workers, temporary foreign workers and laid-off textile workers.

University of Ottawa.  Peter is the Director of the Refugee Forum at the
Human Rights Research & Education Centre, University of Ottawa. He is an
adjunct professor of law and teaches Advanced Refugee Law.

 (FSIS).  Bridget is Anishinabe:kwe (Algonquin woman) from the Kitigan Zibi
Anishinabeg First Nation in Quebec. She works with families of missing and
murdered Indigenous women and girls and communities impacted by police
violence. She co-founded Families of Sisters in Spirit in 2010.

 (Montreal)  Samir Shaheen-Hussain is a pediatrician who has been involved
in radical grassroots social justice movements for over a decade. He was
active in the Montreal component of the June 18 National Day of Action
against cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program and is currently
involved in the "We refuse to cooperate!" campaign.
