*TOOLS FOR CHANGE - input requested!*
Tools for Change is a workshop series that some folks involved with
OPIRG-Ottawa are hoping to get going in Ottawa in the fall.
In order to do this, we need your input! Please let us know what you think
is most needed to tool-up Ottawa's movements!

*THE LEVELLER magazine release / call for distributors*
The time has come. The Leveller magazine will be released in a few short
days and we need you to help spread the word.
With the help of PROMdemonium funding, we are delivering
community-based media that packs a punch, covering stories and
analyzing issues that the mainstream either ignores or misrepresents.
This issue has it all, well most of it anyways.
Read about Ottawa's talented street artists, the Hintonberg Hub, and a
guide to bike safety in the City. Find alternative viewpoints on
government/corporate attacks on workers (CUPW), austerity-fighters (G20),
anti-war folk (CANSEC), refugees, prisoners, the environment, the flotilla,
the poor, and much more.
More importantly, help distribute copies to local businesses and
organizations in your neighbourhood, or work with a friend for a
short period to hand out free copies to residents in the city
(proven to be a very effective method).

*Climate Justice Week @ Carleton U: Planning Meeting*
Thursday, August 4 · 7:00-10:00pm
at OPIRG-Carleton Office. 326 Unicentre (3rd floor,
up the stairs from Ziggy's, down the stairs across from CUSA)
We are organizing a Climate Justice week at Carleton University for
October 24-28. This meeting will be an initial brainstorming meeting
to figure out what we want to do for this.
Some ideas we have discussed is holding a series of events were different
organizers and personalities in the climate justice movement come and speak
about Canada's role in global environmental change as well as positive
solutions.
We could show documentaries and stage an action in the atrium as well.
The possibilities are endless!
Please let me know if the time and location works.
The time and date can be flexible and we can arrange for a space that is
accessible if need be (the OPIRG Carleton office is not accessible).
