The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is in bargaining talks with our
employer, Canada Post. We want you to have better and expanded services
instead of cuts.

- *ORGANIZE A COMMUNITY WALK TOUR AS PART OF JANE'S WALK*
Jane's Walk is a festival of free neighbourhood walking tours given by
locals who care passionately about where they live, work and play
We’re looking for people who want to share their passion for Ottawa to
prepare and lead a tour as part of this event (May7-8).

- BURSARIES AVAILABLE

* *Venus Envy Bursary Fund*
Started in 2006, the Venus Envy Ottawa Bursary Fund awards two people in the
Ottawa area (who identify as a woman and/or as transgendered) each a $1500
bursary. The bursary is awarded based primarily on need but also community
involvement and other criteria.
Deadline: dropped off or postmarked by July 29

* *Terry Cottam Research Bursary*
OPIRG-Carleton provides a $500 Research Bursary annually to a Carleton
graduate student whose research projects falls within our mandate of working
on environmental, social and economic justice issues.

*NO-TO-CANSEC MEETING*

*Monday, April 18, 7 pm*
91A Fourth Ave.

Do you believe that war and war profiteering are immoral?
Do you believe that killing people is immoral?
Are you bothered that most of our military exports go to countries that are
fighting wars?

THEN COME OUT FOR THIS IMPORTANT MEETING!

Recently, we have protested CANSEC primarily by holding rallies.
This year, some of us (veterans of these rallies) have decided to take a
different approach:

First, we will request a dialogue with the organizers to ask them to cancel
the show.
Second, we are planning nonviolent, direct actions on June 1 to expose the
immorality of this weapons trade show.

Some of our ideas are lots of fun.
We want your ideas as well.

Come out on April 18 and get involved.
