2) *Osgoode Society Against Institutional Injustice Presents: The Police
Access Request Initiative*
Have you ever been carded by police?
Are you interested in learning what kind of information the police have on
you?
If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions the Osgoode Society
Against Institutional Injustices (OSAII) invites you to the Police Access
Request Initiative.
OSAII has created this event to provide a simple way for members of the
public to obtain police data that has been gathered by carding or by any
other means. Participants will have the opportunity to file a Freedom of
Information (FOI) request with Osgoode law students who have been trained
in filing and submitting these request forms.
All records are kept confidential and not shared with any third parties.
The Toronto Police Service offers civilians a chance to apply directly for
their records, however some civilians may feel intimidated by the process
and that is why OSAII is offering this service to the public.
The following is a list of the most common types of requests processed
through the Toronto Police Services' Access and Privacy Section:
· Records of Arrest
· General Occurrences; Incident Reports
· Memorandum Book Notes
· Witness statements or contact information
· Police related 9-1-1 Emergency calls
LOCATION: Osgoode Hall Law School, Room 1003
DATE: Wednesday, October 21st, 2015
TIME: 1230 to 230 PM
*If you choose to have a request form filled at this event please bring a
piece of ID with you.
For more information on the event and how to make requests yourself you can
