*1. **BEEHIVE COLLECTIVE presents MESOAMERICA RESISTE!*

*Come See the *Big Picture!*

Don't miss this high energy, interactive, graphics-based workshop,
presented this *Sunday, December 7th at 2pm at Black Creek Community Farm
(4929 Jane St.).*

*Free admission - all are welcome!*

We're going to spend a few hours talking about art, food, race,
development, capitalism, and resistance - all through the lens of the
storytelling embedded in the Beehive's incredible mural, "Mesoamerica
Resiste!"

Over eight years in the making, the Mesoamerica Resiste! graphic is a
collaboratively-made, highly-detailed, allegorical illustration brought to
life by the Bees themselves: volunteer activists, storytellers, and
educators who use hand-drawn cartoons and stories from grassroots
communities to explore the connections between our local, everyday stories
and the bigger picture of our historical moment.

With huge "portable murals" and a slideshow that zooms in on all the
dizzying details, the Bees' mission is to "cross-pollinate the grassroots,"
drawing audiences together around common experiences and hopeful
possibilities for collective action.

Come join us at 2pm, take a look around the farm, and participate in what's
sure to be a rewarding exploration of art and food and justice!

Contact Alex at alex.redfield at everdale.org for more questions or
directions. Hope to see you there!

*2. **Justice for Michael Mac Issac, Stop Police Shootings*

*Sunday, Dec. 7th*
1pm
25 Grosvenor
Ministry of Safety and
Correctional Services
(North of College, West of Yonge)

Michael Mac Issac was shot and killed by Durham police on
December 2, 2013. At the time, he was naked in the street and most
likely having an epileptic seizure. Like in nearly every police
shooting, the SIU cleared the officer who killed him.

We demand justice for Michael - that his case be reopened and the
officer who shot him be held accountable!

We demand an end to police brutality and police shootings! This
disproportionately impacts men of colour and/or who are labelled as in
mental health crisis.

We Demand changes in Police training especially towards those in
crisis!

We Demand that the SIU conduct their investigations in a thorough and
unbiased manner!

Join Michael's family and community to mark the anniversary of his
death and demand justice.
