A couple of events listed for this week- please attend, and spread the
word! Also a reminder- OPIRG York is closed from December 12-January 7th.

What are the connections between sex work and colonialism, child
apprehension systems (eg CAS, residential schooling), anti-immigrant
policies, policing and poverty? All contribute to or directly enact
violence against sex workers.
Join Maggie’s on Dec 17: International Day To End Violence Against Sex
Workers for a panel discussion about how sex workers experience state
violence and how the fight for the decriminalization of prostitution
connects to these broad issues.
Moderated by Jessica Danforth (Native Youth Sexual Health Network)

*Jane Finch Action Against Poverty (JFAAP) Meeting*
Wednesday December 19, 2012
6pm – 8pm
1 Yorkgate Blvd, unit 202
(Yorkgate Mall, close to the Dollarama- upper level)
This is the final JFAAP meeting for 2012! Come join us as we prepare for
next years events, and possibly a small holiday goodbye celebration! Jane
and Finch Action Against Poverty (JFAAP) is a resident-led grassroots
coalition of community residents, activists, workers and organizations
working to eliminate poverty in our community and in the world. JFAAP meets
at 6pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Black Creek
Community Health Centre in Yorkgate Mall; new members are always welcome!
The next meeting (after Dec 19th) will be on January 2nd, 2013!
