[opirgyork] TOMORROW! Volunteers Needed for Supporting Food Service Workers!

Just a reminder that OPIRG York is looking for volunteers for TOMORROW at
1pm at the Pizza Pizza in Central Square to help us support the Campus
Food service workers that are trying to secure better wages, benefits and
jobs for themselves at York University.

We need people to help get petitions signed and talk to people about the
issues that food service workers are facing, so students going into the
cafeterias can help show the workers that they support their struggle!

If you are available even for an hour, please meet OPIRG staff and other
volunteers at Central Square (by the pizza pizza) anytime from 1pm to 4pm
to get people to sign the petitions and give out stickers and other "we
support food service workers" stuff.

If you aren't able to come on monday (tomorrow) - please sign and forward

petition to your classmates/profs/friends at York and UofT.

Support food service workers on campus! Sign and share the petition!

More than 500 campus food service workers at York University and the
University of Toronto are now in negotiations for new union contracts with
global food service corporations, Aramark and Compass.

Too many of these workers are stuck –

•    Working for close to minimum wage
•    Working for too few hours or in part-time positions
•    With inadequate or no benefits for themselves or their families
